The Rev. Wendy K. Abrahamson receives the Outstanding Organization of the Year award on behalf of St. John's Episcopal Church.
At the 21st Annual Best Practices in Brain Injury Service Conference at the Sheraton in Des Moines, Don and Jackie Vaughan received an award for Distinguished Public Service from the Brain Injury Alliance of Iowa. Don and Jackie, members of St. John's, have improved the lives of Iowans with brain injury in significant ways--including bringing the special issues of those who live with brain injury to the attention of legislators. St. John's is blessed to have Don and Jackie among our members, as well as Kacey Vaughan, their wonderful son.

St. John's itself was awarded Outstanding Organization of the Year. This award is presented to an organization which helps the BIA IA, or our survivors, caregivers – anyone who is living with a brain injury.

St. John’s supports the BI Support Group by providing a place for regular meetings, and also hosts the Saint Johns Classic, a day long bike tour that raises funds for the BIAIA and involved volunteers from both the parish and from the BIAIA. It is a wonderful event!

A growing, vibrant church, committed to building disciples, growing in faith, and serving our neighbors in Christ's name.
